Biography
Dr. Rod J. Rohrich is an internationally renowned, board-certified plastic surgeon based at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute and Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Recognized as one of the "10 most influential surgeons of the current era" by the American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Rohrich has been ranked by Newsweek as the #1 plastic surgeon in the United States for rhinoplasty, facelifts, eye lifts, and liposuction from 2021-2024.
Dr. Rohrich served as the former Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he built it into the largest and most academically productive plastic surgery department in the United States. He served as Editor-in-Chief of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, the world's leading plastic surgery journal, for over a decade and transformed it into the most respected peer-reviewed journal in the field. He is the founding Editor of PRS Global Open, the first open-access plastic surgery journal in North America.
A global expert in rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty, Dr. Rohrich chairs the Dallas Rhinoplasty Symposium, one of the largest educational conferences specific to rhinoplasty, and has trained over 15,000 rhinoplasty surgeons worldwide. He is the author of over 1,000 scientific articles, 50 textbook chapters, and editor of 7 plastic surgery textbooks, including the prestigious "Dallas Rhinoplasty: Nasal Surgery by the Masters."
Dr. Rohrich has served as President of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), President of the Association of Academic Chairs of Plastic Surgery, and President of The Rhinoplasty Society. He is a founding member of the Alliance in Reconstructive Surgery (AiRS) Foundation, which supports breast cancer survivors. His innovative techniques include the modern Lift-and-Fill Facelift procedure and pioneering work in facial fat compartments that define how humans age.
