Biography

Dr. Michael Frederick is a Harvard-trained, board-certified plastic surgeon practicing at Le Spa Plastic Surgery in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Known as "Dr. Mike," he combines innovative world-class training at Harvard with a discriminating eye and artistry to achieve natural, stunning results for each individual patient.

Dr. Frederick graduated Summa Cum Laude from UCLA, where he initially majored in marine biology. After witnessing his sister's battle with cancer, he shifted to medicine as a way to make a major life impact. He attended medical school at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco, ranked third in the country, where he was awarded the Dean's Scholarship and received research grants to study transplant immunology. This research background helped him later participate in two of the world's first face transplantations as part of the plastic surgery team at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Frederick completed his Harvard Combined Plastic Surgery Residency Program from 2010-2016, where he was selected by the faculty to serve as the first Chief Resident at the renowned Massachusetts General Hospital. He also completed an internship at Massachusetts General Hospital. In addition to his Harvard training, Dr. Frederick studied at The Pitanguy Clinic in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, learning the most advanced techniques in aesthetic surgery.

Dr. Frederick is well-known for performing breast lift, mommy makeover, tummy tuck, liposuction, and facelift procedures. His philosophy emphasizes that "cookie cutter plastic surgery just doesn't work anymore" and that modern concepts have completely changed the approach from strictly excisional techniques to sculpting, shaping, and transforming bodies. He believes the most important aspect is listening to patients, understanding their goals, and creating their vision.

Dr. Frederick has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations, including research on chest surgery in transgender individuals, nipple-sparing mastectomy outcomes, and innovative surgical techniques. He has presented his work at major conferences including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons meetings. His research includes patents and publications in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and other leading journals.

Dr. Frederick is fluent in both English and Spanish and is affiliated with HCA Florida Palms West Hospital and Broward Health North. He has over 10 years of experience and continues to volunteer at local breast and ovarian cancer fundraisers in memory of his sister. Outside the operating room, Dr. Frederick enjoys beach activities, scuba diving, and racquetball, and spends time with his German shepherd Whinnie and golden retriever Murphy.
