Dr. Harry Salinas is a Harvard-trained, board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in breast reconstructive surgery at the Miami Cancer Institute. Named a 2025 Top Patient-Rated Plastic Surgeon by Find Local Doctors, Dr. Salinas is recognized as Chief of Breast Reconstruction and performs over 600 reconstructive procedures of the breast and face annually.
Dr. Salinas earned his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine at New York University (now known as the City University of New York School of Medicine) in 2009. He holds an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Miami. Dr. Salinas completed his general surgery training at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, where he also completed a research fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery as the recipient of the prestigious V.H. Kazanjian Research Fellowship from Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Salinas then completed his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Harvard Medical School. His extensive training provided him with expertise in both plastic surgery and advanced surgical techniques that extend the ability of other surgeons and radiation oncologists to more effectively treat cancer, offering patients the best opportunity for cure. Dr. Salinas moved to Miami to become one of the two founding surgeons of the reconstructive surgery program at the Miami Cancer Institute, a preeminent cancer center. He is affiliated with Baptist Hospital of Miami and South Miami Hospital and maintains his practice at HMS Plastic Surgery. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Salinas has extensive expertise in plastic surgery of the breast, face, and body, performing thousands of complex reconstructive breast and facial operations before transitioning into cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Salinas' research interests include fat grafting, adipose-derived stem cells, and improvement of venous conduits for arterial reconstruction. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles about plastic and reconstructive surgery techniques and has presented his clinical research results at various professional symposiums throughout the United States and internationally.
