Biography
Dr. Alfredo Hoyos is a Colombian board-certified plastic surgeon and world-renowned innovator who created High-Definition Liposuction (HDL), also known as H4D LIPO and Dynamic Definition Lipoplasty (4D). Born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1972, Dr. Hoyos earned his medical degree from Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá and completed his residency in Plastic, Reconstructive, Maxillofacial and Hand Surgery at the same institution.
Dr. Hoyos pursued advanced fellowship training in aesthetic surgery at New York University and additional specialized training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. He holds board certification from the Colombian Society of Plastic Surgery (SCCP) and specializes in aesthetic plastic surgery, maxillofacial surgery, and hand surgery.
Credited with revolutionizing body contouring, Dr. Hoyos invented High-Definition Liposculpture techniques that have become the standard of care for modern liposuction surgeries. He has developed additional advanced body contouring techniques and refined methods in fat transfer procedures for buttock and pectoral enhancement, as well as breast augmentation. Dr. Hoyos continues to research new applications of HD techniques in other anatomical regions within cosmetic surgery.
A prolific researcher and educator, Dr. Hoyos has authored numerous scientific publications and books discussing advanced body contouring techniques and technologies. He travels internationally as a speaker and consultant, serving as a lecturer and trainer for Vaser, BodyTite, Microaire, and other cutting-edge technologies. Through his Total Definer training programs, Dr. Hoyos teaches surgeons worldwide his innovative techniques.
In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Hoyos is a philanthropist and founder of Fundación Vida, a non-profit organization providing medical care and education to underprivileged children in Colombia. He practices in Dubai at Quttainah Specialized Hospital and maintains his primary practice in Bogotá, Colombia.
